Remuneration: £25,476 - £27,919 Pro-rata
Overall Purpose of Post
The Volunteer Engagement Co-Ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and coordination across the organisation. The role will ensure adherence to our data management strategy, effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. The postholder will facilitate volunteer recruitment, induction, and support to meet organisational needs, contribute to service development, and promote good practice in service delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance, working closely with Service Leads & SMT.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Co-ordination: Implement and refine volunteer recruitment strategies, oversee the volunteer database, maintain inventory of volunteer needs, process Access NI checks, ensure role descriptions and training are up-to-date, develop new initiatives, promote volunteering locally and externally, and support volunteer retention and communication.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: Develop monitoring and evaluation processes, assist with case studies, coordinate satisfaction surveys, and ensure evaluation aligns with funding requirements.
3. Quality Assurance and Development: Support policy reviews, maintain standards, promote diversity, and ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
4. Data and Information Management: Follow reporting mechanisms, gather evidence, analyze trends, and ensure GDPR compliance.
5. External Relationships: Build stakeholder relationships, attend external meetings, and develop partnerships.
6. General: Support volunteers, promote Cancer Focus NI, and undertake other duties as required, including training and flexible working hours.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria: Experience in delivering training and organising events for volunteers, managing people or volunteers, relevant work experience, GCSEs in English and Maths, excellent communication skills, organisational skills, IT proficiency, teamwork ability, independence, adaptability, empathy, and a valid driving license.
Desirable Criteria: Experience in health and social care, community engagement, developing training programmes, voluntary sector involvement, relevant qualifications, and management qualifications.
