Job Opportunity: Family Support Worker (Temporary - 3 Months)
Location: Various (within Sefton Council)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Days: Monday to Friday
Duration: Initially 3 months, with the possibility of extension
We are seeking passionate, dedicated Family Support Workers to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and families across the borough.
About the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will:
1. Deliver practical and social support to children, young people, and families.
2. Contribute to assessments, care planning, and reviews with a child-centered approach.
3. Undertake direct work in homes and community settings, promoting positive outcomes.
4. Supervise and support contact between children and birth families.
5. Identify risks, promote safeguarding, and support children in need or at risk.
6. Work collaboratively across services and agencies to meet family needs.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
1. A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Children and Young People).
2. Experience working directly with families and children.
3. Excellent communication, report-writing, and organisational skills.
4. An understanding of child development, safeguarding, and family dynamics.
5. A proactive, inclusive, and solution-focused approach.
A full enhanced DBS check is required. This post is designated as a casual car user role.
