Philanthropy Events Executive
£28,000 - £30,000 (+ Benefits)
Reports to: Events Manager
Department: Strategy & Philanthropy
Contract: 12 month fixed‑term contract
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Location: Stratford, London – office‑based with high flexibility (1‑2 days per week).
Responsibilities
* Support Event Managers with smooth project management and delivery of large events, taking ownership of key tasks and providing administrative, logistical, creative and account‑management support.
* Project‑manage smaller non‑fundraising events (e.g., business breakfasts and networking events) to build long‑term support from our high‑net‑worth audience.
* Manage event guest lists and coordinate mailing and response processes with stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters and stakeholders to retain and maximise their support.
* Research and secure luxury prize donations for auctions, celebrating the impact of donors.
* Collaborate with the team on communications tasks such as copywriting, print and digital mailings, mail‑merging, proofreading, internal sign‑off and coordination with fundraisers.
* Manage key event income streams (raffles, auctions, games) to maximise on‑night fundraising opportunities.
* Coordinate with editorial and design teams to produce high‑quality marketing materials and event collateral, ensuring compliance with Cancer Research UK’s branding procedures.
* Support supplier relationships to achieve best value without compromising quality, including gift‑in‑kind support.
* Conduct venue and speaker research, centralising and updating information.
* Source and manage event volunteers from across the organisation.
* Provide financial administration, including procurement collaboration, purchase orders, invoice processing and accurate income/expenditure record‑keeping.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting delivery of complex events or projects in fast‑paced environments (philanthropy, events, hospitality, entertainment, client/account management, sales, etc.).
* Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear verbal and written communication and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
* Demonstrable copywriting and proofreading abilities.
* Pragmatic problem‑solving, troubleshooting, adaptability and composure in dynamic situations.
