We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our existing team. Visits to the school are warmly encouraged, please telephone the school office to make an appointment.
You will need:
•An NVQ3 or equivalent in early years and experience of working with Reception aged children.
•Able to communicate effectively and engage with all children and their families and carers, staff and other agency representatives both orally, in person and in writing.
•Able to observe children’s behaviour, play and learning, understand its context and record observations in an appropriate and non-judgemental manner.
•Able to support children with a developmental difficulty or disability and understand that their families and carers will also need support as well.
•Ability to understand how young children develop and the ability to interact with children to support the development of their ability to think and learn.
•Ability to work as part of a team and participate in supervision, appraisal and training as required.
Main responsibilities (please see job description for other responsibilities):
•To plan and lead on a range of play and learning activities to ensure the delivery of learning intentions in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
•Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
•To ensure that the Foundation Stage environment, inside and outside, is kept safe, tidy and stimulating at all times and that resources are cared for appropriately.
•To provide supervision of the children in the playground, dining hall and classroom as required, encouraging purposeful play and social skills activities.
•To establish good working relationships with all members of the school team, parents and outside support agencies.
•To ensure all children are kept protected and safe through the use of recognised safeguarding guidelines and that children are referred to other agencies as required.
