Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Assistant Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Nuclear team, supporting the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
* Gain a deep understanding of project specifications and the technical aspects of construction materials design, supply, use, and testing.
* Advise on necessary derogations and amendments to requirements and specifications.
* Provide technical guidance to project teams on the suitability and use of various materials, including concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, and reinforcing steel.
* Assist in preparing Material Acceptance Requests and monitor feedback and technical queries related to construction materials.
* Coordinate materials specifications, ITP requirements, and supply chain materials management during mobilization and execution of works.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* An HND / HNC / NVQ in a relevant subject (beneficial).
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Materials, or Earthworks (desirable).
* Industry-accredited safety training, such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
* Previous experience with materials.
