We are currently recruiting for a Controls System Technician onsite at Grain to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Grain LNG’s assets through efficient maintenance of the terminal control and safety systems, including all aspects of operation, modification, and maintenance activities.
As a Controls System Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and timely completion of duties related to Control System equipment, including maintenance, fault investigation, equipment repair, modification, delivery of minor operational projects, and assistance with commissioning activities, to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The role is based onsite at Grain (Kent). Due to the location, you must be able to drive there and hold a full, clean license.
Key Accountabilities
* Collaborate with Process, Commercial operations, key stakeholders, and contracting partners to maximize efficiency through the delivery of the annual plan.
* Identify and address training needs within your area to ensure competence and flexibility to meet current and future workload requirements.
* Maintain accurate data recording to support management and regulatory reporting of KPIs.
* Keep detailed records of system changes.
* Ensure the availability and reliability of all safety and process-critical systems.
* Participate in standby cover and emergency response readiness to meet the terminal’s EIMS requirements.
* Supervise contract personnel undertaking project or maintenance work.
* Complete work independently, including in remote locations within the site boundary.
* Adhere to the terminal’s safety guidelines, including the 'Golden Rules', and complete appropriate documentation (MoC, NRO, PTW, etc.).
About you
We seek individuals who are current or potential experts in their field, with qualities such as:
* Innovative and forward-thinking with a good understanding of gas installation plant and process machinery.
* Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in fault-finding.
* Experience with field control and instrumentation.
* Knowledge of ICSS, Stand Alone PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems.
* Familiarity with Safety Systems, Programmable Emergency Shutdown, HIPPS, and Fire & Gas detection systems.
* Understanding of industry standards including COMAH, ATEX, DSEAR, EMMUA 191, BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511, and UKAS.
* Basics of Cyber Security for Industrial Automated Control Systems (IACS).
* Post-apprenticeship control systems experience in pharmaceutical or petrochemical environments is advantageous.
* Experience with project development and delivery within the IACS environment is a plus.

* A competitive salary of £43,000 to £53,000, depending on capability.
* Market supplement of £5,500 per annum (paid monthly).
