Role Overview
The Property Sales Valuer is responsible for providing accurate property valuations to vendors, buyers, and investors. This role combines strong market knowledge, analytical skills, and excellent client-facing abilities to deliver expert advice on property pricing, positioning, and market trends. The valuer plays a key role in securing new instructions and supporting the sales team to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Valuations & Market Appraisals
* Conduct accurate property valuations for residential or commercial properties.
* Provide market appraisals to prospective vendors, investors, and internal sales teams.
* Research local market trends, comparable evidence, and property transactions to support valuations.
* Advise clients on pricing strategy, saleability, and market positioning.
Business Development
* Generate new instructions by building relationships with property owners, developers, and investors.
* Actively promote the agency’s valuation services to increase instruction levels.
* Support the sales team by identifying properties with strong market potential.
Client Relationship Management
* Meet clients in a professional and courteous manner.
* Explain valuation reports and recommendations clearly and confidently.
* Maintain excellent relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Administration & Compliance
* Prepare accurate written valuation reports and appraisals.
* Record valuation activity and client details within the agency CRM system.
* Ensure all valuations comply with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
* 1 to 2 years minimum previous experience as a property valuer, surveyor, or in estate agency.
* Strong understanding of property markets, pricing, and transaction trends.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
* Confident in managing client relationships and explaining valuations.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
* Experience using property valuation and CRM software.
* Knowledge of local Leeds property market (or specific regional market).
* Previous experience in new-build, residential investment, or commercial valuations.
