Overview
An established and growing business operating within the IT asset recovery and circular technology sector is seeking a commercially driven Business Development / Sales Manager to lead the growth of its refurbished IT trading division.
This role focuses purely on commercial growth — sourcing and selling refurbished PCs and laptops across the UK and Europe. With an established technical and refurbishment infrastructure already in place, the position is centred on revenue generation, supplier development, and building long-term trading relationships.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone with experience in IT trading, hardware remarketing, ITAD, or refurbished IT markets who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for building both the supply and demand side of the refurbished IT trading division, identifying profitable stock opportunities and securing long-term buyers.
The position is strategic and hands-on — combining business development, supplier sourcing, negotiation, and pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development (Sales Focus)
Identify and secure new B2B customers across:
SMEs and corporate businesses
Public sector and education
IT resellers and MSPs
Develop and manage a structured, high-quality sales pipeline
Negotiate commercial terms and close profitable trading agreements
Match customer demand with available stock opportunities
Attend industry events and networking functions where appropriate
Supplier Sourcing & Procurement
Build relationships with:
ITAD providers
Leasing companies
Corporate IT departments
Surplus stock traders and liquidators
European refurbishment and wholesale partners
Identify commercially viable equipment suitable for resale
Negotiate purchase pricing, volume agreements, and margin targets
Align sourcing with internal refurbishment capacity
Market & Commercial Strategy
Monitor refurbished IT pricing trends
Identify high-demand models and emerging opportunities
Drive strategies to increase margin and turnover
Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
Proven experience within IT sales, IT trading, ITAD, hardware remarketing, or refurbished IT markets
Demonstrated ability to source and sell refurbished PCs and laptops
Established industry contacts across buying and/or selling channels
Experience trading within the UK and/or European markets
Strong negotiation and deal-closing ability
Desirable
Experience within IT asset lifecycle management
Exposure to public sector procurement frameworks
Knowledge of business-grade brands (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.)
Experience handling bulk asset purchases
