Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Design Sales Consultant to join our TEAM!
As the Design Sales Consultant, you will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions. Use the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications, sales, and brand awareness.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development, ensuring the completion of selection and sales for all customers. Utilize Auto-CAD Project Management where applicable.
2. Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and customer preferences in CMT. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to follow leads, track progress, and close sales. Report sales closures monthly.
3. Prospect for new business, focusing on Custom Builders and Residential Designers. Make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads. Log all customer interactions in CMT.
4. Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining models and displays. Ship customer samples as needed. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to stay current on design and product offerings, adhering to marketing standards for showroom merchandising.
5. Plan and host showroom tours and industry events to drive sales. Attend trade events to build industry relationships and brand awareness.
6. Work evening and weekend hours as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
1. Four-year degree in a related field, or four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of experience.
2. Skills in sales, customer engagement, interior design, sketching, reading blueprints, Auto-CAD, color coordination, design trends, and understanding customer buying habits.
3. Ability to approach unfamiliar situations with innovative solutions and effectively communicate and sell ideas to clients.
4. Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with customer management tools is a plus.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
