Position: TIG Welder (Experienced with Miller Welding Machines) Location: Isleworth Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-5:00pm / Fri 7:30am-1:00pm (Overtime available) About the Role: Proactive Global is currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join a reputable manufacturer in the protective equipment industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled welder to work with advanced Miller welding machines and contribute to the production of high-quality components for a range of sectors including military, broadcast, medical, and industrial industries. As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for performing precision welding on materials like stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel, ensuring that all welding tasks meet production and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Carry out TIG welding on a variety of materials, including 1.2 - 1.5mm stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel. Operate Miller welding machines (e.g., Syncrowave, Dynasty, or similar) with full knowledge of settings, modes, and capabilities. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication. Prepare materials before welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning. Visually inspect welds and use measuring tools to ensure compliance with standards and identify any defects. Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, reporting technical issues as needed. Adhere to strict health and safety protocols and wear the required PPE at all times. Collaborate with other fabricators and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely production. Maintain a clean and organized welding area, following workshop safety guidelines.Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a TIG welder, ideally with 3 years of hands-on experience. Proficiency with Miller TIG welding machines (Syncrowave, Dynasty, etc.). Ability to weld thin gauge materials with precision and a clean finish. Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of different welding positions (e.g., 1G to 6G). Understanding of weld inspection standards and quality control procedures.Desirable Qualifications: Welding certifications (e.g., ASME, AWS, BS EN ISO 9606). Formal training or apprenticeship in welding or fabrication. Experience with stainless and aluminium pipework, pressure vessels, or similar components. Familiarity with other welding techniques (e.g., MIG, Stick) and general metal fabrication tools. Personal Attributes: High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
