Job Description – Modular Depot Manager

Job Purpose
The Modular Depot Manager is responsible for leading the Dundee depot team, ensuring the highest quality of all deliveries, installations, and services, while driving Operational Excellence and commercial performance. This hands-on leadership role combines operational management, team leadership, and client relationship responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the depot team, including Assistant Depot Manager and Foreman, fostering a positive, motivated, and high-performing environment.
* Oversee depot operations, including deliveries, installations, and site services (modular buildings, chemical toilets, welfare units, events, mobile site accommodation, and catering facilities).
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, company policies, and Operational Excellence standards.
* Manage depot Profit & Loss performance, controlling costs, and ensuring profitable execution of all services and equipment.
* Plan and coordinate modular building installations, including lift plans, resource allocation, site assessments, and risk mitigation.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including lift plans, risk assessments, method statements, and progress reports.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, resolving any post-installation issues promptly.
* Oversee transport activities, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company operating licenses.
* Maintain depot assets and stock, performing regular stock takes in line with company procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations and customer service delivery.
Person Specification
* Proven experience in modular building or site services, including depot or branch management.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience motivating and developing teams.
* Commercial awareness, including P&L management and cost control.
* Strong project management skills, with ability to plan, execute, and monitor modular installations.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused.
* Full, clean driving license required.
* IT literate, with ability to manage depot and project systems effectively.
Hours & Benefits
* Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 17:00, fully site-based.
