Description
ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh are currently looking to recruit a PMO Analyst, for an initial 3 month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate c.£250-£300/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).
Responsibilities:
1. Support the planning, delivery, and monitoring of project workstreams across the bid/project.
2. Maintain project documentation, including project plans, risk and issue logs, RAID registers, and highlight reports.
3. Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and steering committee sessions, including agenda preparation, meeting notes, and follow-up actions.
4. Monitor project progress, identifying potential issues and risks, and escalating appropriately.
5. Assist with the preparation of programme reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
6. Ensure compliance with PMO governance frameworks, standards, and methodologies.
7. Support resource planning, budgeting, and scheduling across multiple workstreams.
8. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
10. Proven experience as a PMO Analyst, Project Coordinator, or similar role, preferably within the public sector.
11. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or equivalent).
12. Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and project documentation for senior stakeholders.
13. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
15. Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint) and MS Office Suite.
16. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Experience
17. Professional project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM, or Agile certification).
18. Experience in education, local government, or central government projects.
19. Knowledge of public sector governance and compliance standards.
20. Experience in contract delivery and solution development.
