Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping?
We are seeking a dedicated Hotspot Outreach Worker to locate, engage, and provide support to those in need in the NW London area. In this role, you will work tirelessly to help individuals make positive changes in their lives and transition towards securing stable accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting outreach shifts at various times, including early mornings, nights, and weekends, in all weather conditions
Engaging with individuals experiencing rough sleeping and those involved in street-based activities
Collaborating with partner agencies to facilitate access to accommodation, healthcare services, substance use support, and other necessary resources
Recording interactions accurately to ensure effective support and collaboration with professionalsEducation Knowledge and Experience:
Previous experience in engaging and supporting individuals with severe and multiple unmet needs
Effective communication skills with individuals requiring support
Ability to record sensitive information in a timely manner
Knowledge of homelessness-related issues such as the benefits system, substance use, mental or physical health, and housing
Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and crisis managementAbilities and Skills:
Strong time management and multitasking abilities
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while adhering to risk management policies
Proficiency in problem-solving in challenging situations
