Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health of our organisation by providing accurate financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in various accounting software and have a solid understanding of financial management principles. You will play a key role in mentoring junior staff and managing accounts payable processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial operations.
Duties
The Role
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Manage the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.
* Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes within the organisation.
* Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
* Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial services trends and best practices to improve processes within the finance team.
* Lead the year end audit process and liaising with external auditors
* Completion of VAT returns
* Cashflow reporting and forecasting
* Other relevant ad hoc duties
Skills
* Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft is essential.
* Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
* Experience in financial accounting with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to guide and develop junior team members.
* Knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
