Want to develop a career working in substance use treatment? Then come join our supportive and motivated Ripley team, who are committed to supporting a change in the lives of those using drugs and alcohol within the Amber Valley area of Derbyshire.
The Role: Based at our Ripley office in Amber Valley (within Ripley Town Hall), working 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. This drug and alcohol worker role involves supporting people accessing Shared Care via their GP and conducting outreach.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload of people presenting with drug and alcohol issues and engage them in regular key work sessions.
* Offer a range of harm reduction interventions and structured key working to help service users achieve personalised treatment goals and improved health outcomes.
* Deliver 1-2-1 care-planned support and facilitate group work sessions as required.
* Utilise appropriate models and interventions tailored to individual needs; support service users on a person-centred journey to build recovery capital.
* Engage in partnership work with other support agencies, local recovery projects, and mutual aid groups.
* Collaborate with specialist teams within the service, including recovery connectors, employment workers, rehab workers, counsellors, and clinical colleagues.
Location & Training
Location: Ripley office, Amber Valley, with satellite GP surgery bases within Amber Valley.
Full role training and shadowing opportunities are included in your induction.
About You & Qualifications
* Experience in the field of drug and alcohol use, or lived experience, or strong motivation and passion for recovery and supporting others.
* Good communication skills (written and verbal), highly motivated, able to use initiative, with strong organisational and diary management abilities.
* Administrative skills are vital for good record keeping; keen eye for data detail and confidence updating Excel spreadsheets.
