About the Role
Transline International Ltd is seeking an ambitious and results-drivenBusiness Development Manager / Sales Managerto join our team at our Southend-on-Sea office.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded sales professional who can identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, manage existing accounts, and drive revenue growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding Transline International’s client base and strengthening our position within the market.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across target markets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
* Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and closing.
* Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
* Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
* Meet and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.
* Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential opportunities.
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure client requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
* Represent the company professionally at client meetings, networking events, exhibitions, and industry functions.
* Maintain accurate records of sales activity, client communications, and opportunities using company systems.
* Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
* Support the development and implementation of sales and business development strategies.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in business development, sales management, or account management.
* Strong track record of achieving sales targets and winning new business.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Confident telephone manner and ability to engage with decision-makers.
* Commercially aware, proactive, and highly motivated.
* Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Competent using Microsoft Office and CRM/sales systems.
* Experience in international trade, logistics, freight forwarding, manufacturing, distribution, or related sectors would be advantageous.
