Transport Senior Administrator – Waverley Court
Salary: £29,173 - £33,287
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
The Transport Senior Administrator will support the Network Management & Enforcement team, Engineers and Project Managers including the team manager with project delivery. Provide a reliable support service through a variety of formats including telephone, face to face, MS Teams, email. Work proactively to facilitate support to the full range of services and activities. Develop customer relationships (internal and external) to support and maintain a high standard of service delivery. Deliver support to colleagues, third parties and service users within the operating principles for Transport.
Responsibilities
 * Work within a team of Transport staff dealing with legislation, project delivery and attention to detail; progress requests to wider council services as required to source additional information and detail.
 * Handle sensitive and personal information in line with appropriate policies.
 * Use appropriate systems to process service requests or updates for wider council services.
 * Promote an integrated and consistent Council-wide approach to Transport services, supported by governance arrangements, processes and legislation.
 * Work with Transport staff and key stakeholders to support new initiatives and the strategic direction of the Council, ensuring Transport services are planned consistently with the Council's objectives.
 * Identify and evaluate risks associated with customer contact services and take action to control/mitigate those risks.
 * Support the Transport Officer with day-to-day tasks and make a range of decisions relating to Transport service provision; resolve issues relating to service provision and legislative outcomes.
 * Ensure relevant legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and other conditions are applied appropriately.
 * Ensure all relevant details are accurately collated and recorded, locate information required, and provide clear and comprehensive responses to meet service needs.
 * Determine the most appropriate method of dealing with colleagues and tasks; ensure work is up to date and prioritised.
 * Share responsibility for a number of systems and data; ensure that data, records, and systems are kept up to date and accurately collated.
Qualifications / Requirements
 * Experience in administrative support within a public sector or similar environment.
 * Experience handling sensitive information and working to appropriate governance and policy requirements.
 * Awareness of relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures related to transport services.
 * Strong data management skills and ability to collate and record information accurately.
 * Ability to prioritise tasks, work with urgency and maintain high standards of service delivery.
 * Willingness to work within PVG scheme requirements for regulated work with children and/or protected adults; may require a PVG check and, if applicable, Overseas Criminal Record Check for staff who have spent time abroad.
 * Good communication skills and ability to develop internal and external customer relationships.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
