About the role:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Abbey Mills Sewage Works. Your role will be to ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods, helping keep the site running smoothly.
This role offers a chance to make a real difference in Thames Water's environmental impact by reducing pollution from our sites.
What you'll be doing:
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
* Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees.
* Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, VSDs, valves, measurement devices, and chemical handling equipment.
* Complete statutory checks as required.
* Work safely, adhering to all health and safety procedures.
Base Location:
Abbey Mills - Stratford - E15 2RN
Working Pattern:
38 Hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby & overtime opportunities, increasing earnings by £8-£10k.
All PPE and tools are provided.
Qualifications and experience:
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Valid driving license is essential.
* Time-served apprentice with extensive experience in mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
