Offer description

Adkins & Cheurfi are delighted to be working with a passionate hospitality team to recruit a Wine Bar Manager for an exciting new opening in the heart of Jesmond. This stylish, community-focused venue is set to become the go-to destination for wine lovers and foodies across Newcastle.

If you're a people-focused leader with a love of wine, a flair for hospitality, and a desire to shape something special from the ground up—this is your moment!

About the Venue

Located in one of Newcastle's most vibrant neighbourhoods, this elegant yet relaxed wine bar will offer a curated selection of wines, small plates, and tapas-style sharing boards. The venue is designed to bring people together in a warm, friendly environment—perfect for date nights, catch-ups with friends, and community events. With its emphasis on quality, experience, and atmosphere, this venue aims to be a standout addition to Jesmond's social scene.

The Role: Wine Bar Manager

We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Wine Bar Manager to take the reins of this brand-new venue. As a key member of the launch team, you will lead the day-to-day operations, build and train a passionate front-of-house team, and play a pivotal role in delivering a high-end yet accessible guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee the smooth running of daily service, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from start to finish.

* Lead, inspire, and train a small, close-knit team to uphold high service standards.

* Select and recommend wine pairings with confidence—your expertise will set the tone.

* Manage stock, suppliers, budgets, and rotas with a commercially-minded approach.

* Drive revenue through events, promotions, and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business.

* Ensure full compliance with EHO, HSE and licensing regulations.

What We're Looking For:

* Strong wine knowledge – ideally WSET Level 2 or above.

* Proven hospitality leadership – previous bar or restaurant management experience is essential.

* Guest-focused mindset – someone who thrives on delivering memorable, personal customer service.

* Business savvy – confident managing budgets, margins, staffing, and operational challenges.

* A genuine passion for wine, food, and people – this role is as much about connection and genuine conversations as it is about knowledge.

Company Benefits:

* Be part of something new – shape the culture and direction of an exciting independent venue from the very beginning.

* Enjoy a better work-life balance – flexible, reasonable hours within a supportive team.

* Bonus & incentive structure – your dedication and performance will be rewarded.

* Real influence – work directly with passionate owners who value your input.

* Career progression – be part of a venture with real growth ambitions, including future expansion and brand development.
