Lead Scheme Underwriter – Salary is competitive depending on experience

Aviva currently have an exciting opportunity for a proven Lead Scheme Underwriter to join the business on a permanent basis.
As a Lead Schemes Underwriter, you will demonstrate an expertise in Scheme Management to meet customer demand, achieve profitable growth annually whilst maintaining underwriting integrity every time and ensuring adherence to the governance framework. Responsible for the profit/loss, revenue, capability, broker/customer relationships, and engagement of the Schemes Team
A bit about the job:
* Lead and deliver initiatives and/or experiments to improve system performance across the business.
* You will manage poor performing schemes, driving the PIP, regularly reviewing the Portfolio performance and applying the required action to turnaround profit, providing regular updates to Stakeholders.
* Helps the team and support Schemes Team Underwriting Lead in delivering financials.
* Make appropriate underwriting decisions, reflecting our strategy and the customer/broker value.
* Work will largely be a combination of Scheme Management and team referral point (immediate) and/or tactical (short to mid-term), but you will also be expected to engage in longer term strategy building to support the execution of the Aviva Group strategy.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Proven experience within Property & Liability Underwriting
* Strong stakeholder management skills
* Ability to handle complex risks and technical referrals, coaching Scheme underwriters on finding the right solution and presenting effectively to brokers
* To have the ability to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
* True team player with excellent mentoring skills
