Gateley Vinden is recruiting a full-time Senior Building Surveyor to join our growing Major Loss team. This is a busy and varied role providing support to the Surveying team on a wide range of projects, including insurance work, primarily commercial buildings in all forms of construction.
The Role
Gateley Vinden are looking to recruit a full-time Senior Building Surveyor to join our growing Major Loss team. This role involves delivering high-quality building surveying services across projects, with a focus on insurance-related work for commercial buildings.

You Will Be Responsible For The Following
* Inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
* Conduct acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.
* Prepare reports, schedules of works and works specifications.
* Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and current technical standards.
* Undertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge of all aspects of professional consultancy services.
* Understand and apply relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning.
* Provide supervision and support to APC candidates to promote knowledge and understanding.
* Comply with the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations.

Attributes and Qualifications
* Must be MRICS Accredited.
* Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures, with awareness of current statutory requirements and technical publications.
* Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing.
* Insurance repair project experience preferred.
* Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles.
* Experience working to deadlines and within budgets on large-scale projects.
* Experience and understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulations legislation.
* Strong mathematical, scientific and IT skills with methodical problem-solving ability.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Flexible and adaptable attitude to work type.
