Job overview
We are recruiting for a Clinical Lead Radiographer who will share our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
As we grow and promote better patient care and experience, we are looking for an experienced radiographer who has proven clinical ability in general radiography, and who has the desire to develop and support the radiography team and promote excellent standards.
As a leader within our team, you’ll join a friendly, energetic department. Candidates should be flexible, forward thinking and highly motivated, with good communication skills and an excellent team working ethic.
This is a full time post and is based at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage, but you may be required to travel to our sister sites at times.
Main duties
To support the day to day running of the main department in Radiology at the Lister Hospital. To encourage and support the large team of radiographers, assistant practitioners and students. To encourage and demonstrate high standards of radiography.
The Trust currently has 3 Siemens MRI scanners (2 x 3T and a 1.5T).
The department also has 5 CT scanners (Siemens and Toshiba), CR/DR systems, integrated with Carestream PACS and encompass a comprehensive range of equipment including DR general and dental rooms, flat plate interventional room, hybrid theatre, CT, MRI, Breast Imaging, DXA Scanning, Nuclear Medicine SPECT, new flat plate image intensifiers and a wide range of Ultrasound services.
There is also a dedicated recovery area for interventional cases in Radiology. A second interventional room is being planned. There will also be CT and MR scanner replacements in this financial year.
Qualifications / Training
* DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Post Graduate Qualification in MRI Imaging
* MRI safety course /qualification
Previous Experience
* Extensive Experience in MRI Imaging
* Experience of day-to-day management of an MRI area
* Demonstration of ability to make decisions and take responsibility
* Experience of dealing with Safety Queries
Skills
* Excellent communication ability at all levels
* Demonstration of Organisational skills at inter departmental level
* Trained in IV Cannulation
* Experience of dealing with oral or written complaints
* Experience of Recruitment and Selection
Knowledge
* Experience and understanding of a wide range of MRI imaging techniques
* Involvement In Audit and Clinical Governance
