We are currently seeking a Head Chef who can manage the provision of quality food dishes at the varied events hosted at Harrogate Convention Centre (HCC). We cater to a variety of events and provide a range of services from a simple tea and coffee service to full-blown celebratory banquets. The role… As a Head Chef at Harrogate Convention Centre, you will lead a team of chefs producing and serving large volumes of food for a variety of events. You will follow direction from the executive chef and produce high quality food to satisfy the expectations of our clients. This role will include shift work, so a flexible approach is required. Duties and responsibilities: Responsible for leading the kitchen teams on a day-to-day basis in producing high quality seasonal food in a timely fashion for all aspects of the food service on site. To provide any necessary on-job training whereby increasing the team’s understanding and knowledge of produce. To manage both casual and agency workers ensuring that we maintain the highest standards by providing feedback where necessary Ensure that the client expectations of hospitality food and food service are consistently delivered in line with the HCC Standards Ensure they attend all briefings and follow directives given Continually monitor the food provided at events and where necessary give feedback to the Exec Chef to ensure the food is of the highest quality and in line with client requirements and the HCC standard To contribute with the team to ensure the food is produced in a professional and timely manner What you will bring… We are seeking a motivated individual who can demonstrate adaptability and a desire to work within a team successfully. You will ideally have: Experience working as a Head Chef in a professional kitchen Experience in managing a team of chefs in a high-volume kitchen Effective time-management Experience in food safety management systems and an understanding of HACCP processes (Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Point) What can we offer you?
