Support Worker Role You will provide support and companionship to a person with Autism/Asperger's Syndrome who lives in his own beautiful home in the Knutsford area. Working hours/pattern 42 hrs including sleeps starting at 10am finishing at 10am 2 days later. 2 on 6 off rolling rota Please see a brief overview of our Client: Who am I? I'm a Male aged 53 yrs, with a diagnosis – Autism/Asperger's. Highly intelligent with good sense of humour. I have a very close family network who are involved in my life. I'm looking for someone to join my support team. My passion is sport especially football. I also enjoy Musical theatre, tv, films, board games, quizzes and going on holiday. I want the ideal person to support me with my interests. I'm not a great cook but I'm happy to join in with support. I'm looking for someone who enjoys cooking and sharing an evening meal with me. There is no personal care involved. You will be offering a supportive ear and a calm presence whilst still bringing an element of fun into their daily activities and needs, whilst promoting independence. You must be self-motivated and ensure the quality of support provided is consistent with current legislation. You must have excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Client with his Autism/Asperger's needs. Promoting and supporting with personal interests. Supporting with medication. Arranging social activities in the home and in the local community. Promoting independence and supporting the Client to live their best life. The Ideal Candidate: Male or Female Previous work or personal experience of supporting individuals with Mental Health and Autism is preferred but not essential. Have a natural sense of empathy and good common sense. Will have an easy-going personality and good sense of humour. Will have good organisational skills and the ability to think outside the box. Must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
