Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Turner / Borer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in fabrication, as well as proficiency in operating manual lathes and borers. This role is essential for producing high-quality components and requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate manual lathes and borers to produce precision components according to specifications.
* Perform fabrication tasks including milling.
* Ability to read drawings.
* Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
* Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to production processes.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
* Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during production.
Requirements
* Proven experience in operating manual lathes and borers.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design purposes.
* Experience in materials handling, tooling, and the use of hand tools.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills.

Pay: From £16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm
Fri 7am-2:15pm
