Bedfordshire Police is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to lead the new Multi-Agency Child Protection Team in Luton Borough Council. This role is vital in representing Bedfordshire Police and working with partners to serve vulnerable child victims.
The Families First for Children Pathfinder (FFCP), launched in February 2023, aims to implement reforms in children’s social care, supported by over £45 million investment from July 2023 to March 2025. This initiative focuses on:
* Family Help
* Child Protection
* Family network support packages
* Safeguarding partners
The Multi-Agency Child Protection Team will focus on child protection, enabling quick action for children suffering or at risk of harm. The team will include dedicated leads from local authority children’s social care, police, health, and education, working together within an integrated structure.
The Police Lead will:
* Collaborate with colleagues in children’s services, police, and education to ensure coordinated service delivery for children and young people.
* Investigate and support decision-making in cases of significant harm.
* Lead safeguarding supervision and consultations.
* Support the rollout of FFCP reforms within Bedfordshire Police.
* Maintain effective communication with partners at operational and strategic levels.
* Mobilize police functions within the MACPT Investigation Team.
* Provide expert advice on risks and matters related to safeguarding.
* Participate in strategic and operational meetings related to the programme.
This position is based at Luton Town Hall, with possible travel to Bedfordshire Police Headquarters and Luton Police Station as needed.
