A quick look at the role.
The Foreman will be working under the direction of the Transfer Station Manager / Supervisor for the planning, control and supervision of staff and resources including all vehicles, plant, equipment and sub-contractors.
Here’s what we require:
1. Plan and organise daily Compliance tasks, arranging Toolbox Talks, Staff PPE/Boot Checks, SHEQ Alerts.
2. Ensure that all staff completes accurately, all relevant documentation – Daily mobile/ Static plant checks, work schedules, time sheets, and additional work instructions.
3. Set and maintain a safety culture, encourage staff to carry out safety observations and report them in a timely manner.
4. Ensure staff achieve production targets.
5. Liaise with the site supervisor on organising outgoing loads and ensure stock rotation.
6. Maintain high standards of contractor/client/customer liaison.
7. Ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities under the H&S at Work Act and all other work-related legislation. Complete the defined responsibilities as per the company’s Health & safety system for this position.
8. To assist the Company in achieving its published Business Objectives and complying with all procedures in line with the ISO system.
9. Keep accurate stock records of materials and supplies to ensure smooth running of operation.
10. Deputise for Contract Supervisor as required.
11. Ensure that site is compliant with the site permit and working plan, including litter, containment bays and storage times.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
12. Hold a valid UK Driving licence and LGV Licence.
13. Experience of stock control and related issues.
14. Be a team-player.
15. Ability to delegate, train, lead, motivate and monitor workforce.
16. Experience of planning workload, holidays, and scheduling.
17. Have a basic knowledge of Health and Safety Policy & Procedures.
18. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including IT.
19. Be calm, assertive and confident, show sympathy as required
