Work Experience and Progression Mentor Derby College Group (DCG) have an exciting opportunity for a Work Experience and Progression Mentor to join us at the Joseph Wright Centre. In this part-time role, youll support learners in gaining valuable workplace insights and experiences.
Hours are flexible within reason, but availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays will be required.
The Opportunity
Join us in shaping students futures by connecting them with meaningful work experience and employer insights. Youll collaborate with curriculum teams and industry partners to design innovative activities that prepare learners for the world of work. From sourcing placements to advising students and tracking outcomes, this role ensures every learner gains valuable skills and confidence for their next steps.
About You
Youll bring excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage confidently with young people and employers. A good understanding of work experience, post-16 education, and labour market trends is essential, along with experience delivering projects to tight deadlines. Flexibility to attend events outside normal hours and a full driving licence are required. GCSEs in English and Maths are essential; teaching or IAG qualifications are desirable.
