What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Trials & Commissioning Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our electrical marine systems. Your responsibilities will include:
* Setting to Work: Engage with electrical marine systems across the entire ship platform, including Power and Propulsion, HVAC, Fixed Fire Fighting, and more.
* Safety First: Act as an Electrical Authorised Person, ensuring safe systems of work for ship electrical systems, including isolations and permits.
* Audits & Inspections: Conduct thorough audits and inspections of electrical systems for handover to Commissioning, collaborating with Operations and Design teams.
* Documentation: Write technical documents to support set to work and trials, including test forms and risk assessments.
* Coordination: Work with equipment manufacturers, clients, and acceptance bodies to demonstrate acceptance of ship systems.
* Troubleshooting: Analyze technical drawings and manuals to resolve issues with ship systems in collaboration with design teams.
* Defining Scope: Clearly define the handover scope for electrical systems and testing requirements to align with overall program needs.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in Marine Engineering or a comparable industry.
* Strong technical understanding of electrical systems operation and design.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor within multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to obtain a Seafarers Medical Certificate.
* Commissioning or relevant marine experience.
We encourage engineers at all levels to possess an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, along with specific qualifications to become recognized as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a professional institution.
Support for achieving relevant accreditation will be provided.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.
