We are seeking enthusiastic Band 5 nurses with neonatal experience who can work alongside our reputable multidisciplinary team. We also welcome experienced adult intensive care nurses with transferrable skills considering a career change.
You will have the opportunity to complete training including Neonatal Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Special Care/High Dependency Course, and Neonatal Intensive Care Course.
The Neonatal Unit is a level 3 provider in the South London Neonatal Network, renowned for its specialist services. Due to high activity and complex acuity, we need experienced neonatal nurses to join our dedicated team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop practice within the Neonatal Unit, working independently and autonomously, accountable for their professional conduct, promoting dignity and human rights through family-centred care principles.
They will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide ongoing care from admission to discharge, supervise and teach junior staff and learners, and maintain personal development.
The role requires providing high-quality nursing care and support to patients and their families.

Clinical Practice
* Practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Promote children's well-being and safeguard from harm.
* Assess, plan, and evaluate care in partnership with patients and families using a family-centred approach.
* Support health education for patients and families.
* Deliver care based on evidence-based guidelines, respecting patients' customs and beliefs.
* Recognize and respond to health and wellbeing concerns, including observations and assessments.
* Obtain informed consent and maintain comprehensive, confidential records.
* Support the unit's philosophy and assist junior colleagues, students, and visitors.
Education and Research
* Assist in teaching and practice development for colleagues and students.
* Use research findings to support evidence-based practice.
* Participate in research, audits, and protocol development to improve practice.
* Engage in Trust and Care Group initiatives for nursing development.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse (RGN) or RN Child/Adult with active NMC registration.
* Understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
* Problem-solving and escalation skills.
* Experience in adult critical care, emergency, cardiac intensive care, neonatal, or paediatric nursing.
* Flexibility and adaptability.
* Interest in developing neonatal expertise.
* Effective communication skills.
* Specialist neonatal qualification (e.g., ENB 405).

Salary: £35,964 to £43,780 per annum, including High Cost Area allowance.
