Purpose of the Role
TheLeadQualityEngineeris responsible forleadingday-to-day Quality compliance acrossinternal and external stakeholders.The role aims toestablishand maintain a lean manufacturing and right-first-time approach within Production and the Supplier base.You will be empowered tocreate and implement changes conducive to continuous improvement while at all timeskeeping a strong focus on process and adherence thereafter.
The scope of the rolemay extend to wider business requirements, andthe rightcandidate shoulduse this role as an opportunityto make fundamentalchanges and improvementswhere they see fit to a positively growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Creating Quality processes and procedures and implementing them within the business
* Compiling APQP documentationandmaintaining throughout product lifecycle
* Implementing and driving continuous improvement activities to reduce waste
* Leading and owning root cause analysis activities for internal and external stakeholders
* Implementing control of off-standard material and process, and driving resolution of
* Reporting and supporting Quality deliverables
* Managing a small team of Quality Inspectors
* Co-ordinating inspection activities
* Auditing and developing Suppliers
* Monitoring Supplier compliance and KPIs
* Reviewing and compiling Quality documentation from Suppliers
Experience Required
* Confident operating cross-functionally internally and externally
* Good understanding of tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan
* Good understanding of PPAP requirementsAwareness of safety and regulatory compliance
* Working to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 (IATF16949advantageous)
* Able to understand technical drawings
* Familiar with various manufacturing processes (eg, injection moulding, fabricating etc.)
* Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement (eg, 8D, 5S)
* Proficient with MS tools (eg, Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.)
* Experience in automotive manufacturing environments (EVadvantageous)
* Experience in scaling or specialist automotive environments(advantageous)
