Social Worker – Child Permanence and Family Reunification – Knaresborough
Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire
Role and Responsibilities
* Work with children and young people who are cared for by the Local Authority, collaborating with families using an established practice model to create plans that achieve the best possible outcomes.
* Support children in the care of their parents or network members, local authority foster care, residential care, and those undergoing care proceedings.
* Have a good understanding of or a willingness to learn court processes related to child care.
* Engage families and young people in developing communication strategies, such as developing words and pictures to facilitate difficult conversations.
* Chair or support family network meetings and mentor young people in developing pathway plans toward independence.
* Serve children and young people from birth to 18 years, working closely with other teams in North Yorkshire and partner agencies.
* Participate in regular group and individual supervision and contribution to county-wide practice model sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
* Commitment to safeguarding: it is a criminal offence for individuals barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require unsupervised work with adults or children at risk.
