Electrical Authorised Person – Kier Group
Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Hours: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Competitive Salary + Car Allowance, Subsistence packages available if requirements met
The Kier-BAM Joint Venture (KBJV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall is delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth. Due to the site being a high‑security Military Naval base, additional security checks will be required. BPSS level of security clearance is mandatory and can take up to eight weeks to process. Candidates must hold an EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passport and have been a UK resident for the last five years to be considered.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely and in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
* Issue permits for electrical work, ensuring that all necessary safety precautions are in place.
* Oversee the maintenance and inspection of electrical systems to guarantee their reliability and safety.
* Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
* Coordinate emergency response procedures for electrical incidents and maintain readiness for electrical emergencies.
Qualifications
* Electrical qualification: BS7671 (current edition) mandatory; other electrical qualifications acceptable.
* Formal BS7671 qualification in the current edition of the wiring regulations.
* Experience with electrical equipment procurement and vendor management.
* CSCS – White PQP/AQP certification.
* Security clearance: Government Security Check (SC) Clearance (UKSV).
* Assessment of competence by the Authorising Engineer.
