Grants & Programmes Manager
will manage the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats.
Over the coming five years it is planned that the size and complexity of our activities will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a senior role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of people management, strategic leadership and good grant making practice.
To thrive in this position, you’ll bring a blend of strategic thinking, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills. The role calls for someone who is confident shaping ideas, offering alternative approaches, and contributing to a constructive team dynamic. You should be comfortable working across a wide scope of activity, navigating complexity, and engaging with colleagues and external partners in a way that strengthens long‑term relationships.
Key capabilities
* Strategic communication: You’ll be able to pose and respond to complex or sensitive questions, using sound judgement to maintain productive and thoughtful dialogue.
* Collaborative leadership: You’ll feel at ease proposing ideas, engaging in healthy debate, and supporting the contributions of others to advance shared goals.
* Stakeholder engagement: You’ll have the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Organisational awareness: You’ll be motivated by advancing Battersea’s strategic interests and confident in shaping conversations and decisions that support that mission.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing, partnering, and contributing to a collective vision while navigating a dynamic and multifaceted environment.
