Role Overview
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our Glasgow team, supporting our hotel accounting business. You will assist in producing management accounts, balance sheets, and related reports, ensuring high standards of controls and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ownership of the monthly management accounting cycle for your hotel portfolio.
2. Review management accounting packs, identify variances and risks, and take appropriate actions.
3. Prepare VAT returns and assist with audits.
4. Support and develop the Finance Assistant, improving efficiency.
5. Manage bank reconciliations and accounts payable controls.
6. Prepare year-end audit files and liaise with auditors.
7. Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and controls.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Handle ad hoc queries from hotel and client teams.
10. Assist in developing systems and process controls.
11. Perform other accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified by experience; qualification (ICAS/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* Experience in hotel management accounting preferred.
* Supervision experience is a plus.
Skills Required
* Proactive problem solver with good organizational skills.
* Ability to meet reporting deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong IT skills, especially Excel; experience with Business Central is desirable.
* Attention to detail.
* Knowledge of hotel industry is advantageous.
