We are seeking an experienced full-time Specialty Doctor to work at Cygnet Hospital Ealing providing psychiatric care on New Dawn, our 9-bed Tier 4 service offering treatment, care, and support for women with a personality disorder who are ready to engage in therapy.
You will be fully involved as a practicing psychiatrist, supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and a first-class multidisciplinary team.
New Dawn ward supports women diagnosed with personality disorder who need:
* A short-term crisis intervention using a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) model (e.g., emergency referrals)
* A longer-term therapeutic treatment program based on DBT principles, including skills coaching and individual therapy

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide routine medical and psychiatric support, including initial clerking and mental state examinations of newly admitted patients
* Assess, investigate, diagnose, and treat inpatients under Consultant supervision
* Maintain good communication with ward nursing staff, mental health professionals, and other agencies
* Participate in weekly ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings, including CPA, Tribunal hearings, and Section 117 meetings
* Keep comprehensive records of assessments and interventions
* Prepare discharge summaries in line with policies and guidelines
* Attend mandatory training such as BLS, ILS, PMVA, Moving and Transferring, Infection Control, and H&S
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, staff, and other stakeholders, maintaining proper reports
* Participate in the duty doctor 1:4 on-call rota, including weekday night on-calls and weekend on-call shifts every 4 weeks

This program helps you develop skills to progress to Consultant level, with rotations across wards/services to gain diverse experience. You will have an educational supervisor to review your progress and support your MRCPsych exams.
