£33,000 - £41,000 per annum, permanent, full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1600.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our client's well-established precision engineering business. The successful candidate will program and operate CNC lathes using FANUC and Siemens controls, manufacturing high‑quality components from engineering drawings with tight tolerances.
The role involves a varied workload, ranging from 1‑Off and small‑batch production through to larger batch runs of up to 500‑Offs.
Responsibilities
- Set, operate and program CNC lathes to produce precision components as per engineering specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining operations and set‑up requirements.
- Utilise measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Inspect finished components to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during machining.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring proper maintenance and servicing of machines.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and enhance efficiency.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
- Proficient in setting up, operating and programming CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and effective usage.
- Attention to detail with the ability to inspect components for quality and accuracy.
- City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in engineering would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
