Qualifications:
* Graduate of a recognized Food Service Management diploma course
* Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
* Previous experience in a healthcare management role
* Experience in menu writing, financial management, and food procurement
* Experience with Mealsuite
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with residents and team members
* Proficient with computers and various software
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of food services
* Create and implement menus in consultation with the Director of Food Services, Residents’ Council, and Dietitian, following legislation
* Develop standardized recipes and menus according to guidelines
* Participate in resident care conferences as required
* Participate in interdisciplinary assessments; implement individualized, resident-centered care plans
* Monitor services to comply with legislation, professional standards, and best practices
* Assist in staffing, including hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll, while adhering to budget constraints
* Monitor employee performance; provide guidance, coaching, and conduct performance reviews
* Oversee food and supply purchasing, inspection, and storage; ensure proper rotation of products
* Assist with annual budget preparation and ensure adherence to budget
* Conduct audits and develop action plans for improvements
* Lead quality initiatives emphasizing person-centered care and innovation
* Participate in annual program evaluations
* Track key performance indicators related to quality, department, and human resources
* Perform other duties as assigned
Shift Information:
This full-time leadership role requires flexibility to oversee peak meal periods, including evenings and weekends. The salary range is $50,000 – $61,500, depending on experience and skills.
