How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The Delivery Lead is a senior member of the Global Markets IT Leadership team, accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of IT change across a Global Markets value stream. The role enables predictable, high‑quality delivery aligned to business strategy, regulatory obligations, and technology priorities.
Acting as the single point of delivery accountability for the value stream, the role ensures that business priorities are clearly understood, effectively governed, and translated into executable delivery plans. The Delivery Lead partners closely with Portfolio Leads, Business Sponsors, and Technology Leadership to maintain strong delivery governance, manage dependencies, and optimise outcomes across Global Markets IT.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to deliver results within a complex, technology-driven, multi-project agile environment.
What will you do in this role?
Delivery Leadership
1. Own delivery outcomes for a defined Global Markets value stream, accountable for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and delivery confidence
2. Translate business strategy, portfolio priorities, and regulatory commitments into clear delivery roadmaps and release plans
3. Lead complex, cross‑cutting programmes spanning multiple delivery teams
4. Balance strategic delivery objectives, application enhancements with operational stability in a production‑critical environment
5. Lead delivery risk management, including identification, mitigation, and escalation of delivery and operational risks
6. Act as a delivery leader within Global Markets IT, contributing to leadership forums and strategic planning
7. Drive Agile delivery practices within Global Markets IT
8. Drive alignment to objectives and ensure delivery predictability
9. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Portfolio Alignment & Governance
10. Work closely with Portfolio Leads to ensure:
Clear alignment between business priorities and delivery execution
Effective demand intake, prioritisation, and sequencing of work
Transparent and consistent delivery governance across the value stream
11. Establish and maintain robust delivery governance, appropriate to a regulated Global Markets environment
12. Provide clear, outcome‑focused reporting to senior technology and business leadership
13. Ensure delivery decisions are traceable, evidence‑based, and aligned to portfolio guardrails
Dependency & Cross‑Value Stream Management
14. Own and actively manage complex dependencies, including:
Cross‑value stream dependencies
Shared service and platform dependencies
Third‑party and vendor dependencies
15. Proactively identify, visualise, and resolve dependencies that impact delivery
16. Coordinate with other Delivery Leads to ensure enterprise‑level alignment
17. Escalate and resolve risks and constraints in a timely and controlled manner
Financial, Resource & Vendor Management
18. Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls across the value stream
19. Line management of a team of experienced delivery professionals (Scrum Masters, RTEs), ensuring they operate to high standard
20. Develop rewarding career opportunities for the delivery team with careful alignment to the delivery portfolio
21. Support portfolio‑level investment decisions through accurate forecasting and capacity planning
22. Oversee vendor delivery and performance, ensuring alignment to delivery objectives and governance expectations
Continuous Improvement & Delivery Excellence
23. Drive continuous improvement in delivery maturity, flow, and predictability
24. Use meaningful delivery metrics (e.g. predictability, throughput, lead time, quality) to inform decision‑making
25. Champion improvements to tooling, processes, and ways of working across Global Markets IT
26. Support broader Agile and delivery transformation initiatives

Key Skills & Experience
27. Senior delivery leadership experience (ideally within Insurance)
28. Proven track record delivering large‑scale, complex technology programmes or value streams
29. Experience in Programme Management combined with hands‑on Agile experience
30. Experience operating within portfolio‑driven governance models
31. Deep understanding of dependency management in complex, matrixed organisations
32. High credibility with senior business and technology stakeholders
33. Experience delivering regulatory or control‑driven change
34. Background working across global, multi‑vendor delivery models
