*Job Overview*We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Practitioner to oversee and support the delivery of high-quality childcare within our nursery setting. This position offers an opportunity for a passionate professional to lead by example and contribute positively to children's learning experiences.*Responsibilities** Lead and supervise a team of childcare practitioners, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and early years frameworks.* Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged from birth to five years.* Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's independence and curiosity.* Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.* Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and welfare.* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.* Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives by sharing best practices and innovative ideas.*Skills** Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings.* Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages.* Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, capable of liaising effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.* Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).* Knowledge of nursery policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.* Ability to motivate and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of care.* Driving licence is desirable for facilitating organisational needs such as outings or staff meetings outside the nursery premises.
