This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience in groundworks, drainage, utilities, landscaping or reinforced concrete (RC) structures who is looking to develop professionally within a supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing estimations, cost plans, bills of quantities and tender submissionsSupport measurement and take-offs from drawings and specificationsWork with the commercial team to evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotationsAssist with cost tracking, valuations and payment applicationsSupport procurement and contract administration dutiesHelp prepare financial reports, cost forecasts and progress updatesAttend site visits to monitor progress, variations and record-keepingEnsure compliance with company procedures, H&S requirements and industry standardsRequirementsEssential:1-3 years' experience in a QS or estimating role (preferred in civil engineering or groundworks)Understanding of drainage, utilities, earthworks or RC structuresAbility to read technical drawings and specificationsStrong numerical and analytical skillsIT proficiency (MS Office; experience with estimating or measurement software beneficial)Excellent communication and organisational skillsFull UK driving licence (or working towards)Desirable:Working toward HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related disciplineExperience with NEC or JCT contractsPrevious site-based exposureWhat We OfferCompetitive salary £35-£55k depending on experienceClear progression pathway toward QS/Estimator autonomyTraining, mentoring and support toward professional qualifications (e.g., RICS/CICES)Opportunity to work on varied civil engineering and infrastructure projectsSupportive team culture and long-term career development
