Job Responsibilities
Full accountability to take all reasonable steps to prevent any event that could cause health, safety or environmental harm. Full authority to contact any Leadership Management (LMM) member on a pressing health, safety and environmental matter.
A hands-on role working to operate and complete all planned and unscheduled maintenance of the Powergen assets as directed by the Planning & CCR team, to the standard set and agreed by the Engineering Operations team. These assets include but are not limited to; spark and compression ignition internal combustion engines, gas turbines, PV, LFG flares/gas plants, compressors, and all electrical and mechanical ancillary equipment.
What are we looking for?
We value experience over industry, so if you’ve worked in a hands-on mechanical or electrical engineering role, this could be a great fit. Key skills and experience include:
* Mechanical/Electrical Expertise: Experience working with diesel, gas, or petrol engines (e.g., HGV, automotive, or marine engines).
* Transferable Skills: HGV mechanics, motor mechanics, marine engineering, or similar industries.
* Qualifications: NVQ, HNC, or equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines (or time-served experience).
* Problem-Solving Skills: Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing equipment.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work as part of an on-call rota.
