Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shop Manager to oversee daily operations within our two hospitality businesses in Sea Road, Felixstowe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining efficient business performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with strong organisational and communication skills to drive sales and optimise business operations.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise shop and restaurant staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity from a hands on perspective.
* Oversee daily shop and restaurant operations, including sales, stock management, merchandising, and customer service standards.
* Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed targets, analysing sales data to inform decision-making.
* Manage staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
* Maintain excellent communication with team members, customers, and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.
* Organise stock levels, coordinate deliveries, and ensure proper merchandising to optimise visual appeal and sales potential.
* Handle administrative duties such as reporting, record keeping, and maintaining compliance with company policies.
* Ensure the businesses adhere to food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times.
* Provide leadership in training new staff members and conducting performance reviews.
* Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries or supplier communications.
* Work with the business owners to improve sales, efficiency and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
* Proven management experience within hospitality, including supervising teams and overseeing daily operations.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
* Exceptional communication skills; fluency in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are advantageous.
* Experience in sales management, merchandising, and customer service excellence.
* Proficient in administrative tasks such as reporting, stock control, and scheduling and other software.
* Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
* Previous experience in hospitality management or related fields is preferred but not essential if accompanied by relevant supervisory experience.
