Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Author to develop, write and maintain technical documents supporting engineering and product development. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy and compliance; oversee documentation processes, manage document libraries, and support stakeholders with technical guidance and drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory standards, and contribute to project delivery through clear, accurate, and accessible documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, write, and update technical documents such as technical files, design risk assessments, user manuals, engineering reports, specifications, and procedures to support engineering and product development.
* Work closely with engineers, project managers, designers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure technical accuracy in all documentation.
* Serve as the technical authority for engineering standards, ensuring all documentation complies with relevant regulations (e.g., ATEX, CE marking) and internal quality management systems.
* Oversee and document the product development process from concept to production, ensuring all technical requirements and changes are accurately captured.
* Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and templates, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering and project functions.
* Maintain a structured library of technical documents, ensuring version control, accessibility, and integration with systems like ERP and CAD platforms.
* Support internal and external stakeholders by providing technical assistance, training, and guidance on the use and interpretation of documentation.
* Participate in or lead engineering projects, estimating time and complexity for documentation tasks, and ensuring timely delivery aligned with project schedules.
* Review and edit documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for documentation-related quality concerns.
* Support customer interactions, including technical assistance and site visits, and ensure documentation meets client and regulatory expectations.

The ideal candidate will:

* Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
* Be familiar with Autodesk Tools: Inventor (3D CAD), AutoCAD (2D CAD), Vault
* Be able to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documents tailored to diverse audiences; demonstrates excellent command of language and technical terminology.
* Work effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams to gather, clarify, and synthesize complex information.
* Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency in documentation, with strong proofreading and compliance awareness.
* Be able to balance immediate tasks with long-term objectives, managing multiple projects efficiently and meeting deadlines.
* Proactively identifies and resolves issues, adapts to changing requirements, and remains calm and effective under pressure.
* Be able to manage workload independently, demonstrates punctuality and reliable attendance, and consistently delivers results without close supervision.
