Are you an aspiring Health & Safety Manager with experience working in Transport or Railway environments? We are recruiting for an exciting role, as our client is looking to growth their team due to progression. You will be instrumental in enhancing safety standards and practices. This role is ideal for someone passionate about safety, with a strong background in risk assessments, safety audits, and driving safety culture change within the transport industry. You will have ONE direct report at H&S Assistant level. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct risk assessments and safety audits in line with the company safety plan to ensure compliance and assess risks. Assist with both internal and external safety audits, including the annual safety systems audit. Issue and monitor corrective action notices arising from audits until satisfactory resolution. Maintain an effective document control system for all incoming standards, legislation, directives, and codes of practice. Review work methods, standards, procedures, and documentation to ensure safety and compliance with legislative provisions. Identify and train staff on Safety Critical Work, ensuring ongoing competency assessments. Advise staff and managers to ensure adherence to safety procedures and methods. Produce monthly audit reports and participate in safety meetings and committees. Carry out high-quality Health and Safety tours, challenging unsafe behaviours and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and recommend remedial actions as required. Contribute to the annual Safety Plan and ensure compliance with the Safety Management and Competence Management Systems. Required Skills & Qualifications: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification and/or professional affiliation (CMIOSH). Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably with at least 1 year in the transport industry. Light rail or Rail experience desirable. WILL CONSIDER SENIOR ADVISORS. Demonstrable experience in driving safety culture change and the ability to influence. Strong communication and motivational skills to engage with all levels of staff.
