A Production Engineer is needed by a Dudley based manufacturing company to join their growing team
As a Production / Process Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes within the production plant. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, optimise, and troubleshoot production processes, ensuring that all operations meet quality standards, performance targets, and safety regulations.
Some of your responsibilities will also include
Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Ensuring that production processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO certifications.
Work closely with production teams, maintenance, and quality departments to identify areas for improvement and support implementation. Provide training to operators on new processes and best practices.
Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction without compromising quality, through process optimisation, waste reduction, and equipment performance improvement.
Collect and analyse production data to generate reports for management, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for performance improvement.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of production.
Support the launch of new products by ensuring that manufacturing processes are capable of meeting product specifications and volumes.The successful candidate will ideally have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and a Six Sigma certification. You will need 3+ years experience as a Production Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the steel or metal processing industries and a strong knowledge of process engineering techniques, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with process control systems, automation, and plant equipment in a production setting coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and implement changes is also needed
