This role is based at our Banbury or Lutterworth Distribution Centres and will involve regular travel between both sites and to our Head Office in Amersham. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate before the role starts.
Job Purpose
You proactively manage relationships with third‑party logistics partners to ensure a first‑class, cost‑effective service that supports the business’s ambition to be recognised as Britain’s best toy business. You ensure day‑to‑day logistics operations are clearly communicated, effectively executed, and delivered in line with agreed processes, performance measures, and service level agreements.
You are confident working independently and interacting with colleagues and external partners at all levels. You bring strong attention to detail, take ownership of ways of working, and are comfortable defining, monitoring, and holding partners to account against performance standards. You communicate clearly and pragmatically, remain flexible when priorities shift, and are willing to step in and support other Logistics Manager responsibilities as part of personal development and succession planning.
Skills & Experience
1. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Power BI.
2. Ability to operate within a project‑style environment.
3. Ability to work as a team player across a B2B relationship.
4. Full UK, valid driver’s licence.
5. Comfortable with KPIs to help monitor and improve performance.
6. Working with supply chain data to understand operational performance.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to drive collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day relationships with third‑party logistics providers, maintaining a proactive and positive partnership.
* You are accountable for the performance of the UK logistics network, including KPIs, cost‑efficiency, and service level agreements.
* Coordinate with retail and commercial teams to ensure plans and priorities are communicated clearly and acted on promptly.
* Lead regular business reviews with site teams and The Entertainer line management on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
* Own and drive the review of financial performance, operational measures, and KPIs, taking corrective actions where required.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the logistics network, driving measurable operational enhancements.
* Promote a right‑first‑time mindset within the distribution centre team.
