Product Certification Auditor

At BSI, we are looking for a Product Certification Auditor to play a key role in maintaining product excellence. In this role, you’ll conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI’s rigorous certification schemes and Kitemark standards.
We’re seeking professionals to deliver product assessment audits across varied sectors and manufacturing environments and would be particularly interested in speaking with people with varied experience across product manufacturing such as construction related products, upvc, gas products, fabrication & welding, fenestration, consumer electronics, protective equipment, pumps or valves.
Previous auditing experience is a plus, as well as expertise in quality management systems (ISO 9001). 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be a distinct benefit.
* This is a field based position that requires extensive travel and potential overnight stays nationwide across UK&I
Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure client understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction to particular items of corrective action where appropriate

Recommend the issue, re-issue or withdrawal of certificates, and report recommendations in accordance with BSI policy, procedures and prescribed time frame.

Maintain overall account responsibility and accountability for nominated accounts to ensuring an effective partnership, service delivery and account growth.

Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete and that all other internal information requirements are met.

Coach colleagues as appropriate especially where those members are inexperienced assessors or unfamiliar with clients' business/technology and assist in the induction and coaching of new colleagues as requested

Plan/schedule workloads to make best use of own time and maximise revenue-earning activity.

Responsible for attending any required training and following all procedures/processes/policies within BSI for management of clients, management of a home-based office, use of BSI equipment and communication both internal and external to the organization

Must be willing to go through extensive onboarding plan in order to reach Lead Assessor status through the prescribed program.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills, to include preparation for and taking standardized assessments related to knowledge and application of audit practices

Responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned clients based on location and a match of qualifications and client contract requirements
*
Responsible for contacting clients and scheduling the visits, planning the assessments, making travel plans, conducting the assessments and reporting and managing the results in an efficient manner.

Responsible for monitoring the client accounts to ensure that records, visit cycle, invoicing and other related matters are properly dealt with to assure client satisfaction is maintained
Education/Qualifications:
*
A minimum of 4 years’ industry experience gained within a product manufacturing environment and with an emphasis on quality management or product certification
*
Qualified within a manufacturing or construction related subject
*
Previous experience in product assessment or auditing, against standards
