Role: Management Accountant - £40,000 to £50,000
We are partnering with a well-established and growing business SME, operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting the Head of Finance.
This is a hands-on, varied position offering full exposure across management accounts, reporting, and business partnering, with the opportunity to add real value through insight and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts with full analysis and commentary
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Business partner with operational teams to support decision making
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and key balance sheet accounts
Oversee accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital reporting
Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee capital expenditure tracking
Support year-end audit and liaise with external auditors
Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function
Assist with ad-hoc analysis and finance projects as requiredWhat We're Looking For
Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
Strong background in management accounting within an SME environment
Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero or similar (desirable)
