An opportunity is now available to join a private, family- owned UK aerospace manufacturing group. Our client is looking to hire a Process Operator to be based at their site in Bristol. This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays.
Established more than 80 years ago they have since merged with a second company to create a leading supplier of complex, machined components and assemblies for the aerospace industry. They have specialist capabilities including thread rolling, heat treatment and NDT with customers in civil, defence, production and aftermarket sectors.
The Process Operator’s role is to work across several manual and special processes including assembly, deburring, part marking, part degreasing and testing.
Appropriate training and shadowing work will be completed to ensure processes are understood and explained. An initiative and drive to learn skills are essential for someone to do well in this role.
Hours of work are Monday- Thursday: 7.30am- 4pm and Fridays: 7.30am- 12.30pm.
There is also the opportunity to work a double day shift should you wish to but this is not mandatory.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assembling aerospace components, fasteners, inserts.
* Deburring, and finishing operations for machined components.
* Pressure Testing: Pneumatic and Hydraulic.
* Part Marking: Dot Peen, Chemi-Etching, Ink Jetting, Vibro-etching
* Ultra Sonic cleaning and degreasing.
* Tapping threaded holes.
* Support the loading and unloading of heat treatment

About You:
Essential:
* Knowledge of abrasive wheels
* Knowledge of deburring media
* Knowledge of deburring and sharp edge requirements
* Knowledge of deburring tools and instruments
* Basic understanding of drawings
* Basic assembly knowledge
* Knowledge of set up and process of part marking techniques
* You will be required to undertake a BPSS Security Clearance check
Desirable:
* Good manual dexterity - use of hand tools, scalpels, brushes
* Attention to detail with very good vision (either natural or corrected); close up vision, ability to adjust focus, and excellent hand/eye coordination
* Patience with repetitive jobs and ability to multi-task
* Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawings is desirable
* Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous
